It’s extremely important to constantly talk on defense. All defenders must communicate whom they are guarding, where the ball is, who will be the first slide, who will be the second slide, etc. Team defense is a collective effort, where everyone on defense must work together as one cohesive unit. Communicating on the field is the most important component to working together as a defensive unit.
